Pratham Books Champion : IDF CSS NAM Bal Gurukul

All children from 3th to 8th classes were impacted - 250 children

Pratham Books Champion : Indira Penubolu
For International Literacy Day (8th September), we had a dream - we wished that 100 people would volunteer to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. Pratham Books Champion : Sushim Shrivastava, Aishwarya, Deepti, Vishwanath and Shivasish
For International Literacy Day (8th September), we had a dream - we wished that 100 people would volunteer to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We ended up finding more than 250 champions to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We will be sharing the stories of all our champions through our blog.

Sushim Srivastava sent us the following story. Sushim works for wireless semiconductor major Qualcomm. In his free time he volunteers against child labor and child abuse. He has been associated with these causes for more than 12 years.
Session 1: Indu Fortune Fields Gardenia Apartments
The session started at 10:00AM. We started with English book the session was very interactive and it went for roughly 25 minutes. Then it was followed by Telugu session. When Telugu Session started, author of the book Sridala Swami joined us. After Telugu session. We gave kids lot of calts to draw kolams/muggus. Kida had a blast.
Session 2: Chord Ashirwad Child labor rehab bridge school.
The session started at 12:00PM, kids were not as forthcoming as first session because of psychological trauma they went through. Vishwanath and I did the session interleaved in English and Telugu. Kids slowly opened up. Kids who could read we gave them a chance to read the book. They felicitated the author. Then kids drew muggu/kolam at the end.
At both the sessions we distributed unlimited number of chocolates.
