Pratham Books Champion : Muktangan

For International Literacy Day (8th September), we had a dream - we wished that 100 people would volunteer to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We ended up finding more than 250 champions to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We will be sharing the stories of all our champions through our blog.

These pictures were sent to us by Jennifer Thomas. Jennifer works with children and teachers at Muktangan, an NGO that partners with municipal schools in Mumbai. She loves stories and reading out stories to children. You can reach her at jennifer(dot)ktg(at)gmail(dot)com.  Learn more about Muktangan's work from their website (www.muktanganedu.org) and you can also follow them on Twitter (@NGOMuktangan).

Storytelling session conducted on 8th September in Mumbai. Jennifer also said:
Tejaswini, the school librarian, did a wonderful story telling session with the students. Telugu students identified kolams as 'muggu' and the others called it 'rangoli' ! :-)
The session ended with the children making their own kolams!
