For International Literacy Day (8th September), we had a dream - we wished that 100 people would volunteer to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We ended up finding more than 250 champions to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We will be sharing the stories of all our champions through our blog.

Loza Kape sent us the following story.
On 8th September 2012 (International Literacy Day), the women short stay home (WSSH) dimapur nagaland. with the rest of the nation celebrated the International Literacy day. The WSSH organized the program along with fun Night at the home. The program started with introduction on Pratham Books and what the program is all about. The girls at the home enjoy the story reading, read out to them by Loza Kape (a staff of the Prodigals home). After the story reading the girls did some activities and did the story reading among them. It was attended by 23 girls along with the staff of the (WSSH) Dimapur.
We have added reading in the daily schedule of the homes and on every Friday 6 pm- 7 pm they have a story reading time where the elder girls take it up and sometimes the staffs take the initiative.
Thank you Loza for spreading the joy of reading!
