Pratham Books Champions : v-shesh

For International Literacy Day (8th September), we had a dream - we wished that 100 people would volunteer to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We ended up finding more than 250 champions to conduct storytelling sessions across the country. We will be sharing the stories of all our champions through our blog.

Shashaank from v-shesh sent us the following story.

As part of 1 day 1 story campaign - Pratham Books Champions at v-shesh conducted 8 story telling sessions of which 7 were for children with disabilities. An 8th session was held in Singapore for 15 children from Indian families. 4 of these sessions were in Sign language, 3 in English and 1 in Tamil.

Sessions for children with disabilities were held in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Indore and Mumbai. These sessions were held at 7 different organisations and a total of 251 participants of which 142 were deaf, 19 were blind and balance with CP, MR et al.

These sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by the students and our team members and there is already talk in the air about when the next session would be held!
